First, I'm not sure if this post should go here, or over on the Hybrid Tackle forum. Mod's, feel free to move it if needed.

I just read an older thread about using 2 oz sinkers to carry a 1/80 oz jig down to deep Bluegills.

Has anybody here worked with Tungsten jigs? Or cheat, and do a bead-head fly with a big tungsten bead?

I've done a couple different patterns. Darned if I know if I have pics of them backed up or not. Lost a computer, have another in for service, so I don't really have access to my older pics.

Maybe I should tie some up? Gotta get more tungsten beads, though....

I ordered some 60º hooks that just came in yesterday ..... just for such a lure.
I also got in a bunch of other supplies so I can make a decent pink/blue combination.
I don't get to go home for about 2 weeks to work on them tho :(

Couple buddies of mine have been sharing results with tungsten.

I started a post on this earlier.

First is mixing a fine tungsten powder with a resin for a jig head but having problems removing the jig from the mold.

Second is with spinnerbait wire

I have some flies I used tungsten beads on. I have not used them enough to give a good report but I do like the smaller profile I get using them.
