Just heard where Do-It is acquiring Caney Creek molds. Caney is a mold maker for soft plastics. They have also developed their own soft plastic and recently own colorants. So Do it will soon be selling both lead and plastic molds along with the supplies.

What's this mean? You can expect soft plastic baits that are designed for particular jig heads. Jason from Caney will still do the R&D on Lake Fork. I would also expect new lead designs as well.

I will miss picking up the phone and placing my order with the owner of the family run and operated business. CCM's customer service is topped by no one!

All we can do is sit back and see how it goes!

Do-IT's customer service leaves a lot to be desired lately. I've called and asked about some minor changes in molds or if they'll do stuff to ones that you'll buy and they say we'll check and never get back to you. They could make so much more if they'd do some changes to the molds in the eyelet area long oval instead of the little circle, and they really need to do away with the warming chamber they're putting on the molds.

X2 on how things are going to work out with them.

Their website says they will be closed from the 15th of DEcember until January 1st but I'm assuming anyone that calls will be told the same information. While the transfering of the business is going on does that mean they will no longer sell molds? Is Do-it going to leave the name in tact of will they be Do-it? I ask because I know a guy that just got a 4" erie darter mold cut and he is planning on using them to make his molds in the future so I want to let him know and I don't want to get the info wrong.

Smalljaw for he near future you still get them from CCM. Eventually they will be coming from Iowa from what I understand. This move frees Jason up so he can concentrate on deseigning new and testing new molds. I don't know if he will continue to do custom stuff or not. He promises it's a good thing for both companies. I'll wait and see.

Thanks Ron Don, those super fry baits you sent me is what made my buddy buy molds from Caney Creek, I look at the bait and how it works he looks for seems and flash as well as detail and he liked the fry but he got the 4" carrot stick and a 3.75" bait and another type of fry that works like a soft jerkbait and he is very happy as am I since I get to use the stuff. But I'll tell him the molds aren't going to disappear. Thanks again for the info.

Y'all are gonna mess around and get me into pouring plastics. I can see it coming, dadgummit. Lol
I've gotten into fishing with plastic bodies on my pony heads so I'll probably get into pouring them too.

Scott - don't feel bad I'm fighting the demons staying away from the plastics. What it would cost to get going I can buy them from everyone here. I'll stick with all the other stuff and leave plastics alone!!!!!LOL

All I need is another fishing hobby. I pour and tie jigs to sell at local shops and I air brush crankbaits. My wife sells dip mixes at all the local craft shows and I'm thinking of setting up with her and tie and sell jigs.

Well it turns out I told my friend about it but he already knew, it seems they sent a letter to all their customers. I'm with ScottV and Fatman, I pour jigs and spinnerbaits, I tie jigs and I make skirts for both jigs and spinnerbaits as well as chatterbait style lures and I too have been fighting an urge to get into plastics. I'm lucky in a way as I have a friend that does it and I supply him jig heads and he supplies me the plastics to put on the jigs, but seeing how much is tied up in it along with the plastic formulas, I'd be homeless but I still get the urge now and then to try it and when it happens I sit and start tying and that wards off the plastic thoughts.

I got the same letter from CC. Given the number of main stream channels that DO-IT has, that should significantly increase the number of plastic molds being made/sold. It will be interesting to watch what DO-IT does with plastics.

Yeah there should be a lot more molds come out since all Jason will be doing is designing and testing!

I just wonder what will happen to the pricing down the road. More Employees and more overhead....

Okay I don't do plastics but looking at Jasons site his molds don't look anything like Do-Its lead molds. Wonder if the quality is going to crap out??
