Been looking at this jig for a while and wonder if anyone has cast any.

My first question is are they any hooks beside the Matzuo Style 785 Size 6 Hook that will work without Modification to the mold?

Second does anyone sell this hook at a reasonable price?

Ranting to follow!
I would love to try this in 1/32 and 1/24 this spring for walleye but am very leary of the component prices 9 cents for the hook and 8 1/2 cents for the wire keeper. Sure, I have a option for the keeper but it is not 100% but the hook price bothers me a bit as does availability of the hook.

Appears to me to be a special hook 35 degree bend and size 6 wide gap.

I really like the wire keeper for both live bait and plastics but feel is is way overpriced. Now it would appear Do-It has a proprietary hook as well. Any input would be appreciate.

When the original ICAST video came out on the Bat jig I was okay I'm gonna get this one. I then contacted Capt Hooks to see if they had 35 degree bend hooks and they didn't. I guess it's a proprietary hook to Do-It - that doesn't mean someone won't come out with one but it will probably be a while before they do. Do It only shows a #6 and #2 in the hook and don't know if you can use the bigger hook in the mold.

I like that they added the recessed slots for the stick on eyes but I don't like that they added the short lead collar to it. The original ICAST video showed just the wire keeper. Do It says they added it because of the requests of the tournament anglers.

This has been discussed on the DO-IT forum also, kinda runs along the same issues as the Walleye head mold and only one of each size and a collar. It's coming off my list of wants molds and I'll wait and buy the heads from someone else

I have no interest in this one. Just by looking at it I see a lot of lost fish and missed fish from this head. Hook point to the eye is too close for my liking.

I was told that the #2 hook would not work without altering the mold. The reason the hook gap is small is because this jig was designed to work in wood and brush.

Yes, I am following it on Do-Its forum as well but felt this was a better forum to rant! The collar does not really bother me for most things, It can be blocked off with plumbers putty - short term, POP - couple hundred casts good thing about pop is let it soak in WD-40 for a day and it dissolves.

Currently, I use a standard #6 or #6 sickle and easily snag both in rocks and brush. My concern is that DoIt is still refusing to bring something out that off the shelf meets our needs. From a past survey, hands down folks would rather have multiple cavities all the same weight. I have lots of molds that I only use 1-2 sizes. Sure is a waste to have all those useless slots but one never knows when fishing location or style may change.. As it is, 1/48, 1/32. 1/24, 1/16 make up 95% of my jigs. I have a few 3/32 and 1/8 but cannot recall using them.

Yup, snag resistance is generally inversely proportional to hookset capability. Reminds me that I need to bend down some points to check if the tradeoff is worth it.

Aren't those the same design hooks as the Do-it Wacky?
