Got to spend time with Dad for a couple hours last Saturday before the wind cranked up and ran us off the lake. Roger you would be happy cuz Letric chicken was #1. A close second was a glow in the dark shad daddy. We caught around 50 crappie in the hour and a half we fished. Caught in 25 - 30 FOW fishing 20 ft deep.

Hey now! That's a haul in that amt of time. And even better with your paw.
Wish me and mine weren't on opposite ends of salinity levels.
Questions
Y'all trolling, drifting or dead stick jigging?
If you are jiggin, when y'all are fishing that deep, are you using spinning reels on your jig poles?

Caught a few fish last mon in the 22' range in an area I was unfamiliar with and wishd idve had my spinning reel on rather than my usual line keeper. Made it very awkward.

Big congrats on a good trip. And glad the EC worked for ya the best…
Knew it would be something with piiiink.

Adam were just jiggin.... All vertical. I use spinning reels and even fly reels on my jig poles. I like 11 ft poles the most. I just use the reels as line holders. When i catch a fish i dont reel i just grab the line and pull the line in. This way you can get your jig back to the same depth quickly!

Nice job Ronny! I use to just pull the line as well , but in deep water I always seems to mess up. I carry rubber bands and have a couple on the handle, when I get a hook up, I wrap the rubber band around the spool a few times, then reel it in. You can then drop back to the same depth as the rb acts as a stop.

I've heard ppl using the rb trick but I've never done it. Most spinning reels have the little triangular shaped (not sure what u call it) that u can wrap your line around as well. Ha I usually mark dads line with a marker!

I have read horror stories about the line being nicked by that, and breaking at the worse time. Don't think it would affect braid though

When I use to use a spinning reel I just used a thread bobber stop to mark my depth and just reel back up. Sure was easier but sure made for a heavier rod
