Tied this jig in the style of Jack Crawford jigs of yesteryear. Used grizzly and saddle hackles to add color to the tie. Craft fur and flashabou ends should provide the movement.

The jig weighs 1/4 of an ounce and has a 1/0 red hook.

Really nice tie pup. What kind of eye is that ?

Jim,

My "eyes" are fashioned from these. They're called Darice Gemz. Bought them on sale at a local Meijer Store after Valentine's Day.

I've mixed feelings about them. At first, I thought they'd form and stick pretty well to a ball head. They do for a few seconds, then their corners pull away. Can't get my epoxy to set and begin curing fast enough to avoid this. Perhaps I'll flatten my heads in the future before sticking them on.

I liked the diamond shape and thought it might be a nice novelty for pike jigs. The eyes (pink and red) reflect light very well, so their sparkle is exceptional.

If the head is not very big a pair of those heomstats with the pound rubber pads may help ya stick them down .

Maybe this idea could help overcome the eye's memory. Thank you for your idea TF.

Very cool looking tie. Yellow/orange combo worked a nice little niche into my tackle box last season.
