Crawdads

Anybody got some ideas for a good crawdad jig? I have a few but haven't put "pen to paper" yet, so to speak.

CRAZY ANGLER TACKLE sells crawfish tail jig heads.I'd check those out.I have some myself.He may have a picture or two of finished ones.

Here is one I made this past spring.................

Tail....Craw tails from Crazy Angler Tackle
Paint....Real Craw Orange from Crazy Angler Tackle
Chenille...Henry's lake
Claws....Barred Orange Zonker
Head....Brown Squirrel hair
Feelers....Small brown round rubber
Eyes....Small black craft beads glued on heavy mono line

Len, thanks for posting that. I've been tying a lot of flies lately and just need to bust the jigs out soon!

Len - That is a nice looking craw. I have a few of those craw tail jig heads i need to get out and tie.

Here is a link to one i posted a little while back. - New Craw - Looks really good in the water, the claws stay seperated.

Here is one i tied awhile back... complicated @$$ tie. I never have tied this one on yet, too scared to loose it after all the time it took to tie it. :blush: It sits by my tying stuff and stares at me......
