Read an article on Chironomids and they are supposed to be a good part of the Crappie diet so decided to tie a few and try them after ice out...

Those look nice Len. I hope to be able to use the fly rod a lot more this year for crappie fishing. Hope to see some good reports on those.

Those are going to get eaten, no doubt! You have some skill..... can't even see any thread on those.

Been using something similar (that is a stretch, tiny/red/black is the major similarity) as spoon droppers and they are working fantastic. Not sure if you have perch around you close, but Bloodworms are a favorite of bottom feeding yellow perch also. I have been doing VERY WELL with catching bluegill on bloodworm flies this winter.

Those are nice . Wish I could fly fish here . Keep gettin stick fish and they live in trees.

wow those are nice looking flies I have used some of those before and trout love em. If you have some of that ribbing in Black you might tie a few up with a black body to. I haven't used them for crappie but trout love em red body and if not they will hit same fly with a black body nice work and good luck on the crappie fishing
