Was a cool day, but a great day nonetheless. Went fishing over at Eagle Creek Reservoir this afternoon with Brian Waldman of Big Indiana Bass. I'd say we caught a lot of crappie. Too many to count, which is what any fisherman could hope for on the best of days.

Haven't been smiling much about my fishing lately. Today was a welcome exception!

Several were caught on these. :) I have another jig that I tied from craft fur scraps that was very effective. Will post a materials list and photo soon.

Most fish were caught off of laydowns and brush at a variety of depths. Reeled the jigs in slowly and kept them in contact with bottom cover to catch the crappie.

Side-imaging sonar is awesome. :icon14:

Glad the crappie cooperated with you today. Too many to count sounds like a great day. I usually lose count at about 10.

Well done Pup,,,,whats up with the tail on that one ? looks like full spawn.?

Thanks RT. Redness of the tail is due to some bleeding. It's not due to fanning a nest. The larger crappie were quite plump. They are doing a good job of gorging themselves before the coming winter.

Sounds like a great day on the water! Those are the days that get us always expecting more. Some of my best jigs have been scrap jigs that i only make a single one........ then lost and gone forever.
