This is a picture of a bag of pheasent feathers I got from Michaels, they are assorted but they also have a pack of the small pheasent feathers that look really nice and they sell pheasent tails also. In addition they have some nice packs of peacock feathers as well as peacock eyes and natural hackle in chinchilla and furnace. The picture shows the packaging but for the hackle and specific pheasent feathers they are attached to a small mesh pad, these are the first bag of pheasent feathers but the hackle I got was really nice quality, for 2 bucks I really liked it.

Thanks for the info - I've never seen a bag of feathers like this in the stores here, only one bag of ginue feathers but they didn't look too good. If you think you might start using alot of Pheasant feathers You might look at Moscow Hide and fur http://www.hideandfur.com/inventory/3170.html or Coffin Creek fur http://www.flytyingfurs.com/ and get a whole skin unless you know someone who hunts them, but then you have to cure the skin.

I only have those for a few patterns and like I said, the reason the guinea fowl feathers caught my eye was because they looked fantastic, the same for the other pheasent feathers, the small ones they have in the same typ bag only they aren't thrown in a bag like the ones I got, instead they are perfectly placed on some kind of mesh fabric so it looks as if it was on the bird. I also don't make a habit of buying craft store hackle but it is cheap and the quality is great for jigs, not so much for intricate fly patterns.
