Anyone tie w/ craft hair? Any tips.

I was given a bunch, but have not used it yet.

I know in the winter, PA s/m bass love a black w/ blue accented craft jig so that's the first one I'll try.

Like anything there's good stuff and bad stuff. I've used some where the first time I fished it the color was coming off of it.

As a tying material it's excellent - I have some of the Punisher craft hair that's used in the float-n-fly jigs. It's really good stuff and color fast. The only drawback to it is it's only good for jigs up to 1/4 oz because of length.

I've sent emails asking if they could get it made in a longer length but haven't gotten an answer back.

I was in a dollar tree store and picked up some kids hair pieces the other day . Bet they are 2' feet long .Came in hot pink , orange , chart. , blue . that syntho hair works great for salt water lures . Cost a buck each and will make 20 or 30 large salt water lures each piece . As far as craft hair goes . You loose a lot because under the long fibers are some really short kinky fibers you have to strip out or it makes it hard to spread the fibers around the collar and it just does not look that good with them in there . Leaving them gives to much bulk and not enough long strands for water action .
