Was wondering if anyone else has done this. Was trying some different chenille and I didn't like the way it came out. So I covered the chenille with nylon thread.

Coated with clear fingernail polish and set it aside. Started working on something else. Noticed the color of chenille started appearing as an opaque finish. It really appealed to me and I tied a couple more in different colors to get same effects.

Anyone else ever try this. Will post pix if I get time tomorrow .

Here is a sample of what I am talking about Ron. Included the thread I am using and bits of some of the chenille in the pic. For doing it the way I have so far.
1. Tie a chenille jig in colors that you want.
2. Cover the chenille with the mono tying thread. I wrap until color is just about disappeared. Then I cover with clear nail polish. As it dries the colors bloom again
underneath the thread. Kinda gives it an opaque finish and subdues the colors in the chenille slightly. I think a more life like looking.
3. I then use hydra clear cure goo on head and wrap.
4. A final coat of clear nail polish.

Have yet to try on fishies yet. Can't guarantee anything yet. But I just like the way they look. The multi colored and new age chenilles really jump out on these also.
