Colors and materials for crappie in muddy/algae bloom conditions?

Crappie fishing has been tough on my favorite water this year, and now that the water has started to warm up, an algae bloom has turned the water green. Lots of particles floating around and very low visibility. You can barely see a hot pink or chartreuse jig more than 6 inches below the surface. Plus the wind sometimes kicks up waves that turn the water the color of chocolate milk.

Any suggestions on what to use under these conditions?

On a serious note now , a silver/red combo or peacock due to it's translucent affects .

Muddy is common where I typically fish for crappie, and white has always done the best.

Chartruse Colored Hand Grenade

When in doubt use Black ... it silhouttes (Spellin) in the water and stands out .. light colors blend in.

I have four that all work in muddy to hard stained water and it would be 5 but I don't use an all white in muddy water because it will not stay white but turn to a muddy yellow so I use a yellow instead of white. Here are pics of the 4 that will help you out Shoemoo.

Hope these will help you some. My first choice would be as listed 1,2,3,4.

If the murky water doesn't have too much suspended debris, my choice would be a blade jig like JJ1's Tail Gunner, JJ2's Boolie propeller shank, or any of the Roadrunnner type underspins.
