Ice was finally off this city park lake,(cement pond) so thought I'd try since it's close to the house. 40 degrees, cloudy and breezy and didn't dress warm enough so didn't stay but a couple hours. Caught a few small gills on a duck jig and this crappie on a black/chartreuse glow tube jig. Not a hand tied jig but did pour it and glue in the orange eyes. Only decent fish so let it go. Fish made me stay 30 minutes longer than I wanted to . View attachment 1

Yep, fishing with a bobber that I weighted with tungsten discs to get some distance. Crappie grow really slow in this lake but once they hit about 8 inches or so they grow faster. Wish the lake still had shad in it but they died last year due to the long cold spell we had.
