HOUSTON - A local man simply scratched his leg, setting off a chain of events that killed him.

Matt Finn's family said an aggressive bacteria entered his blood stream.

He was hospitalized days after he went fishing in Greens Bayou, Finn's son said.

Scarey science fiction end of the world stuff, except its real! Obviously, the bacteria is resistant to known antibios. We are helpless against mutating micro-organism attack - they were here before us and will probably survive after us.

We had a few similar fatal "flesh eating" bacteria incidents in HI, tho very infrequently and not publicised in quite awhile. And we all know about the rising incidence of fatal infections in hospitals.
