but not what we wanted... :)

I went out with a buddy Sunday. Only pulled in 1 crappie all day, but could not keep the dang hybrids, and whites off our jigs.... I can tell you a 5 lb carp is fun to catch on a crappie setup....... talked to several other crappie fisherman, and they had the same story....

Foreign language! A hybrid a striper? A white a sand bass?
I'm dumb.
Only thing I ever catch besides sacs and sun fish are the occasional LM bass and catfish. Mostly just sacs though.
Whatever they are looks like a fun trip and bet it was a ride on them jig poles.
Hope they're tasty.

Where we live a white bass and a sand bass are the same fish... A Hybrid is a cross between a sand bass and a striped bass....Hope this helps.

So, why do you prefer crappie to whites?

Sorry, if thats a dumb question - don't have either in HI. And I haven't tasted white bass yet.

Good job Heath..... Where did you catch them? I'm gonna try to get my kids into some of those sandbass when I get home. Either on Tawakoni or Palestine.
Thanks Jerry, I was at the double B with Pat!!

Nice haul Heath...Lots of crappie elitists scoff at the mighty sand bass, but I enjoy catching them, and they do make fine table fare when done correctly !!

Now if I could find a way to get down to E. tx and end up on Palestine to chase them 2-3 lb slabs, that would. BE icing on the cake
