Caught a few Easter Crappie

I ended a great day with family and friends by doing a little fishing. When I got to the city pond my favorite spot was being fished by a couple guys and a few young kids. I fished down the bank from them and watched as they started plucking some crappies with minnows while I was only catching some small bass and sunfish. It didn't bother me cause it was the kids that was doin the catchin. They were just a hootin and a hollerin every time they caught one. It was crackin me up. Anyway I ended up catchin me a few Easter crappies too with one of my tail spins. Nothing big but they were the first crappie of the season for me. They are beginning to move into the shallows. :icon14:

Also had a pretty brave muskrat come out of the water and walk within a few feet of me

glad you had a great time Andy!!!!!!!!! Now I've had muskrats swim by me but never had one come out of the water!!!

Andy, it's all about the kids having fun! I took the two nephews fishing Easter at the Butte and for some unusual reason the lake was like glass. The boys ended up catching 2 sand bass, 2 crappie and 14 smallmouth bass. Enjoyed the day watching them laugh and tease one another. All fish caught on green and black jig.
