Majority of paint used is transparent or 'candy' type..... for those fish with a sweet tooth. ;) The single hooks are #4 Mustad 3366's. The size proportion looks right but still going to search around for a different hook i think. The trebles will get the job done - may even throw some flash'n'hackle on a few. Will see.

Thanks all! They are just as much fun to paint as show off. :D

AndyLane - Have not fished them yet....... should have taken them along with me earlier today but for some reason i did not. They would have filled my bucket as other baits were not working all that stellar. hahaha Just by the looks of them - and some other input from here - i am leaning towards liking the trebles more. The test will come when i actually use them.

Bucho - All the paint was done with brush tapping powder paint. Distance from the object you are painting and how hard you tap has a lot to do with how well you can make colors blend. I tried to do a yellow perch pattern (bottom right) complete with stripes made from a stencil, but the orange belly glitter candy coat had WAY too much glitter in it and is lumpy as hell even after curing it with a lot of clear powder on top. Oh well, lesson learned.

Nice paint jobs there.

If you want to use single hooks on some, look into the siwash style. They have big eyes that are open when you get them. No messing around with the split ring, you just stick the split ring through the opening and crimp the hook eye shut Lot of guys out here use them for lures in areas where there are single hook regulations.

Something I learned Russ (you prolly already know this) if a piece is lumpy, dipping it in clear doesn't help much cuz you are adding clear on top of the lumps too. What I've found that helps some is light brush taps of clear around (not on) the lumpy area. When cured, the clear seems to "flow" among the lumps, building up the spaces between the bumps. Just my thoughts. Still GREAT spoons!!

My best-producing bluegill baits:
  1. live red worms
  2. the "black gnat" pattern fly
  3. A 1/16 or 1/8-ounce hammered nickel-silver wobbler with three longitudinal red dots
Wobblers are the most fun for me to fish. Virtually no one I talk to has much confidence in using spoons for sunfish, or an urge to try them. But, trust me, they whack them readily. ;)

Those are great-looking, nicely-painted spoons AF. I do like spoons with three longitudinal dots (my one-and-only fishing superstition). ;) The "triple grip" hooks on those hammered wobblers are a nice touch too. :icon14:
