Maybe if you live in Alaska. The drive from Anchorage to Juneau is about the same, though it does involve crossing over into BC.

Texas does have wineries!! I live in a dry county, and the only alcohol you can buy in a store is wine made in Texas. Miranda Lambert ( country singer ) has a winery not far from my house... And a Texas wine store.
I hate driving 40-50 miles to buy my beer!! I usually pick some up in Louisiana on the way home..

And yes I-10 is the southernmost interstate that runs east/west. From Jacksonville, Florida to San Diego/ Los Angeles area

Thats about how far it is to my Dads!!!! but it's not all interstate till you hit NY at Lake George. Till then it's all site roads getting there. Not much of a wine drinker but some folks just built one down the road and they must really be serious about it they have solar panels to run all their electric needs.

Well, got educated on Texas - the west side is arid mountains - I thought the state was a big desert pancake watching cowboy movies. And the entire Gulf coast is below sea level many miles inland. Fair amount of rainfall at the TX-LA border near the coast.

The LE Winery website is tedious...

Texas still has plenty of dry counties!!! You can get a beer in a restaurant, but not at the grocery store...... I have to drive 40-50 miles to buy a six-pack!! LOL
