I was wondering if someone could help me Identify these two materials.

This is out of a whiting variety pack. Not sure what kind of hackle it is. I love it and when I run out and go to buy more I'm not sure what it is called.

What is this type of chenille called? I got a ton of this stuff in a few colors from my wife's work.

Been tying up some cool looking bugger flies and jigs using these two things. Post some pics later. Thanks for any help.

Those feathers look to small to be schlappen feathers, it looks to be just a cool looking hackle, maybe natural furnace, someone will be along to help that will know for sure but the chenille looks very much like estaz.

If the skin is white on the back it is a natural part of a saddle hackle not dyed . Whiting farms raises there own breeds of chickens specifically breed for tying . If I told you what one of there roosters is worth you would swallow your tongue .

The chenille looks like ice root beer that I buy from CAT. That looks like brown neck hackle from Wapsi also avaiable from Cat that I buy.

I will say estaz also. Great for jigs and salmon flies. I would also go with saddle hackle on the feathers.

Thanks everyone! Yeah the feathers look a lot like the strung neck hackle I got from CAT but it is just a lot smaller.
