Got home today from a weekend trip to Buck Creek State Park. Just a hair over a 2 hour drive from home. Beautiful place with pretty decent sized sites. Lots and lots of woods to get lost in. Pretty small campground over all though with only just over a hundred sites total spread out and maybe had 3/4 of them full. Me and my son made several journeys down hiking, snowmobile and horse trails on our mountain bikes. I am probably going to be feeling it for the next week or so in my knees and back.
We did some longer runs down the park roadways with the whole family. Dog was included in her trailer
They are way up ahead. Very proud of my daughter. She just very recently started to ride a bike (had zero interest when she was younger) and probably rode a total of 3 miles with us. My wife(dog) and son are way up ahead in the picture.

Big lake..... need me a boat with a motor. haha. When my son played and swam in the water, i fished. Had to pack up just to get down to the water. Tackle on my back and rods velcroed to the bike.

Campers had their own beach as well as several landings down the trails away from the others that actually had better sand to be honest. Unfortunately, there was little area to fish because it was an extensive sand flat. I walked out 50yards or so and casted but did not get any action. Some very cool little private beach areas though.

Weather was good the whole time we were there. Friday when we pulled in a big storm had just blown through. There were leaves all over and even some damage to the state park cabins from limbs falling. Friday evening was cool, Saturday was overcast and warm, Sunday was sunny and hot. This campground will go on our favorites list. :icon14:
