Got my crosscut rabbit hides in the mail! With 48 strips per pack, I see lots of bunny jigs in the future.

Already had a bunch of white and black, so I focused on colors.

Yup, I ordered the hides from JStockard.

One thing I've noticed about having a lot of something. It makes you more bold when it comes to experimenting. If you buy a jig in a package, you're more timid about throwing it into places where you might lose it because you're always thinking "I'll be out $X if I lose it" but if you can just make more you're more willing to take the chance.

Same with materials. If you have a lot of something, you're more willing to try different color combinations and new things.

I noticed that you bought crosscuts, I see a lot of palmering in your future. I tie a lot of bunny jigs with saddle and cape hackle tails and put more of the money into the crosscuts. Now that the feather craze is supposedly over I won't feel as bad about using the hackle, most jigs I make use 4-6 feathers.

Yup, I went with the crosscuts because I prefer palmering crosscuts over zonkers for bodies and tails on smaller jigs. I can buy half hides cut into zonkers at Sportsman's Warehouse for a little over $8. All of the local places only carry crosscuts in the four strip packages, so I figured I'd jump on the chance to buy some in bulk.

Does Stockard take paypal ? I finally got the credit cards paid off and don't want to ever use them again. I was at Feathercraft last week and they had two-tone cotton candy and fleshy pink clearanced for $1 a bag, four strips per bag. I bought them all,43 bags in all. Maybe we can work a trade for some of those crosscuts.

Good looking bunny and does look like it will tye many of jigs. Those jigs you tied are nice and the bottom dark olive with the black head looks great!

Great looking jigs. I love the way rabbit hair moves in the water. I got 4 rabbit hides from those folks also but mine are cut into zonker strips.

JJ- They do accept paypal.
