Bluegill jigs

These jigs are 1/100th, poured with#12 VMC hooks, and were tied for JJ1. The body is peacock herl (reinforced with wire) and the tail is tied in like the neck and then swept back and tied down. It’s like a modified renegade pattern.

I did catch some gills through the ice with those. Killer bitty baits.

Wow! The VMCs look killer strong with brutal barbs, and the hook eye appears to be high enuf to act as a snag guard. Do they hookset OK ?

These are some killer jigs,no problem hooking even the little gills.Next time I go trout fishing they will be going along and I'll test them out.

I love these things! I have tied some very close to these but I used hackle tips for the tails. You just can't beat the natural colors of peacock and the dyed herl makes them even more amazing.
