Well I got so tired of trying to make production with all the powder techniques I gave in and ordered an electrostatic spray gun and oven . Going to use an old shower stall or tool shed for a booth . Got the rack ready . Holds 300 . And I accidentally got expert help from a friend if I need it . Somebody say a prayer For me cause I'm going to loose the family jewels when the bank statement comes in . I put off getting her new tires . But I didn't tell her why .

Sounds like a big bullet to bite! Hope you make it through the first couple weeks of the new month (when the bills come in the mail) so you have time to play with the new toy. Can't wait to hear how you like it once you are all set up and have messed up a few heads. :P To cure 300 heads at one time would make me nervous.

Oh no,I can see a cot being put up in that work area of yours.Does this mean that we can all send you 300 heads to be painted at once?I think that I could fit 300 4 oz. Ultra Minnows in a large flatrate box to be painted white or pink or even chartruese.Sounding better already.

Now you guys don't start plot"n . I'm trying to avoid vinyl paint that this guy is using and get some speed up . I can't do the weird and wacky stuff if I have to actually WORK . There is that NASTY word . Curing 300 heads is not so bad if the unit does what it is supposed to do there won't be many if any drips because the paint goes on thin like an air brush . What tipped the scale was using my powder air brush wasted to much paint and seemed to cool of the part too quick , dipping takes to long and is lumpy on large lures . Tap method Is hard to control and slow and so no . If I live and get this down pat I should be able to offer painting at a reasonable cost . Crap gotta go to work Later

Can I fix a truck . No but my buddy can powder coat it inside and out .
Painted hooks . Put tin foil on them and the eyes . Remember I am doing 3/4 and up .
Awh yes pics Are we video capable if we are I'll try to show the action live .
To be honest I'm about half scared of this little venture . I'm the kind of guy who can get lightning struck in the bath tub .

Youre goin to put foil on every hookshank?

Have wondered in the past how many here wrap hooks before they paint.

I tap-paint with most everything and am a very messy painter....... end up wraping every hook point and up the shank with foil as close to the head as possible. I sure don't paint in 'production' numbers though. One of my pet pee-vee's is having powder baked on hook points and it has progressed on to not wanting it on the shank either for some tying so everything gets 'foil wrap' for now.

Thought i was just eccentric. :D :jig:

The reason I asked Brent about keeping the hooks shanks clean is because the entire jig (including hook) will be 'statically charged. So the paint will be attracted to the hook as well. I think building a hinged clamp to cover the hook will be a must for production. A springloaded clamp that you can just slide the hooks in would be the bizomb.
