Beginner's Half Hitch Finishing Knot

When you tie your first jigs or flies, this is the knot to use. The pen barrel is a clever idea for flies. Apply head cement or nail polish to your finishing knot in order to prevent its slippage.

I did it like that when I fist tarted making bucktail and rabbit jigs but since I learned how to whip finish I don't use the half hitch anymore.
