Came up with a couple new ones but real easy ties really likes how they looked in aquarium.

first up is mini -hackle chub

Made with smallest chub head , chrome pp , fine mono thread , snow white hackle. Head thread coated with silver sparkle fingernail polish. Takes very little rod movement to make these things quiver.

Next up is what i call the emerald ghost. Pix first then aquarium movie.

These are made with pill heads. Next tie on holographic chenille on jig starting at head, wrap back to first bend in hook, leave bobbin hang at that point. Select mini zonker strip position length of tail you desire. Wet fur slightly and stroke in opposite directions to part the hair. Now wrap this first anchor tie and secure with half hitches. Cut thread and position the strip to head of jig. Trim off excess and tie down in place. Whip finish or half hitch your choice. I then coat with silver sparkle finger nail polish. They give off pretty flashy presentation and the sparkle helps to emulate falling scales. The emerald shiners scales are very easy to flake off and seem to help excite the feeding fish. Hopefully my " ghost " will imitate this.

A pond down the road from me is just teaming with 4'' bass . Bet I could snatch a bunch out with that and sling them over the bank for the coons to eat . Good crappie in there if you get past the bass.

Couldn't your FW authorize that??? We had a pond here in VT that FW stocks trout in for the kids and somone threw Bass and sunfish into - got so bad they authorized all Bass and sunfish could not be turned back.

They didn't get em all but the ponds a lot healthier now and new rules on the bass but it's worked out good. Now they just need to get one of those grass cutting machines into it.

After you stroke the fur in the opposite direction are you just pulling the strip tight to the back of the hook and tying off??? Thats the part I'm not getting in your description.

Fatman- Yes after tying tail in pull to head of jig and tie it down normally. You can go go the Regal vice homepage and watch how they tie the " white death fly ". I don't like using the metallic braid though. They always end up looking like S*** for me. I just use a metallic chenille silver mostly. That mylar tubing does nothing for me.

I think the silver flash given off by the metallic mylar or chenille emulates the scale flash of spooked minnows.

really like the winged jig, have been doing that with kiptail hair and it's a winner for sure, been putting a white crappie nibble on the hook and using a cork, they take it down like it's live bait.

I see what you were talking about!!! I thought that's what you were doing but I know it's easier to see it sometimes than when someone explains it.

Thanks again for the link!!!!!!
