We been talking about the beads from wholesale fly company and some of their beads seem to have burs and some don't. The ones I received looked good to me so this morning I tied a few to see if I would have any trouble with the thread or materials catching on the beads. I didn't have any problems from the 3.5mm beads I received. This is one tied on a #10 hook, just a fly I made up using dubbing and a hackle collar. Everything worked great with these beads. Now the next set of beads may be different but all I can say about the beads is what I see from the ones I have on hand. Just wanted to give y'all the info I have on the beads, hope this helps.

Since the ruff edges on the ones I got are around the smaller hole should not be a problem with that type of usage. Spinning the bead around the hook eye a bit might clear any burrs. For Boolie jigs the small hole side is the propeller spin bearing surface.

Nice skinny tie there, Stump !

I can see where any burs would not be good on the boolies. If you can't use the beads let me know and I'll take some off your hands. Not sure if I need 1000 but may be able to use 1/2 of them.
