Almost never bank fish anymore but on rare occasions I do venture out. Weather was so miserable and I thought all wrong for where I was headed.
As per usual I was wrong. Trip started out cold but ended hot. Once again a muskie interrupted my battle with the crappie. Only one this time and only about 18 inch. These fellows fell prey to my " emerald ghost " size was nice too. Caught in water less than 3' deep which made no sense due to wether cold front just blew thru that Saturday. This was April 28th was too tired to post yesterday as I didn't get home until after 11 pm. Most of fish were caught after nightfall.

Did not have to sort much as most of them were long and thick. Kept 24 for freezer and rest were released for future seed.

Glad to hear that you are finding them! 3' or less of water...... are they spawning over there? Keep heading out to a local hole looking for spawners and have not found them yet. Odd damn weather though.

This was jig. Some were caught on minnows but most on jig.

AF - not spawning yet. This is a little spot on Berlin , that is good early spring place. Probably about 2 weeks away from full spawn for crappies yet. Water temp will be the ruling factor there.
