Bought my wife who loves birds a female zebra finch in September and after a month got her a little boy to keep her company. Moved them away from the big window in November so they wouldn't get a draft. Noticed in December they were starting to work on building a nest but it being close to Christmas didn't give it much thought. Checked the nest on Christmas eve and they had four eggs. On New Years Day both were off the nest so looked inside and there were two babies the size of a peanut in there. Checked the next day and another had hatched. Today two of them made their first appearance outside the nest, one is still stubborn and won't come out but did take a few pictures. They sure are noisy when mom or dad is feeding them.View attachment 6View attachment 5View attachment 7 2nd picture was taken a few days ago with dad on top of the nest. Two pictures are the two who made an appearance outside the nest today.

One of my wife's cousins has a Blue and Gold Macaw. He's very, uhm, how should I say, quirky???? I do have several tail feathers (think Peasant Tail feathers), and a few body feathers.

Last one finally left the nest a little while ago. Runt of the litter, must have been the last one hatched. Good thing too, dad's already tearing up the paper towels on the bottom and carrying it to the nest. Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't start laying more eggs. These three are going to each of the granddaughters.
