I like them, bet you will catch some fish on those.Just as an observation of the original fish........... big silver eye, black pupil, red gill patch, light pink dorsal side, silver with scale reflections (flash) on the belly.

Great tie that should work, and I'd add gold flash accents to AtticaFish's observation, with the silver flash belly significant. Maybe a Clouser type streamer tie could be a closer match than marabou-chenille?

They are a color phase of the fathead minnows. I have used the bait itself and it is a very effective live bait. Their actual color is hard to imitate as I have tried many times. Another nickname for them is goldies. As they do have a slight goldish tint to them and are slightly opaque.
First time I ever seen them was trout fishing in PA. We were using emerald shiners and managed with them. Later on when available I have tried them on other species and they work excellent. Down side is they are more expensive them normal fatheads and usually only available during first month of trout season over in PA. I live close to PA stateline so often fish in western PA.

Am a bit of a believer in providing a pattern that's at least a little bit different from the natural forage. I do like reverse countershading patterns on lure bodies (think Crankbait Corporation of yesteryear) and jigs for example.
Your jig will be a 'fish getter' as is.

Thank you all for the very kind words and tips to maybe improve em. Thanks to this site and it's members my jig tying abilities have really increased. Members put out different ideas along with different ties to try and copy. Again Thank You all and Merry Christmas to all!
