I'm willing to bet if you've eaten shrimp, you've eaten tiger shrimp. They're aquacultured and just about any supermarket with a seafood counter carries them.

Two non-endemic species here that ruined near shore stocks of more desireable native species are unfortunately not so yummy. Roi(small grouper) and ta'ape(small snapper) were deliberately introduced by short sighted tunnel vision resource management IDIOTS who thought species diversity would be beneficial to local anglers. Like the tiger shrimp, roi and ta'ape over compete for available forage including native species juveniles. Local ecosystems took many, many years to establish a harmonious balance, and any disruption can be disasterous.
