My wife nearly had one. 2 oz. shy of the Missouri record Redear in 1996. 2lb 4 oz. The record at the time was 2lb. 6 oz. Caught it on a cricket that survived the trip home from Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee. Have a picture somewhere.

My only chance at fame came in 2007. I came in 8th in the big buck contest with a 13 pt that scored 158.4. I have a boring life. LOL

Well if you count record holders between my daddy and I, I out fished him during a stripper run, using Rebel blue and silver lure. He threatened me that I walk home starting from the boat in the middle of the creek.

Caught a big crappie on the local lake in late August on a minnow. The fish did not fight until he reached the top of the water and then he came to life. I knew it was big, but I had know way at the time to measure the fish. When I got home, my son and I measured the fish which was 16 1/2" in length. Unfortunately, I did not have a scale either. I looked up the record for the local lake and beat the record by 2".
