Looks like fun Mel,,,Didnt miss an opening day for 15 years, but havent even had the gun out of the case the last 4 yrs....Lost some of our spots, and son and SIL are busy with the kids now... Been missing it more so this year than others..
Thanks for the comments... Considering how dry it was this summer the hunting has been good. Probably will drop off after the rain and weather change but dangit we need the rain bad.
Ronnie no arguing about the results with the MOJOs. We have been using them for three years, and I have seen birds turn 90 degrees and fly straight to them and land if you let them. Not every dove that flys by stops, but enough to make a difference at the end of the day. Kinda like crappie fishing over condos!!!! :icon14:
My son who lives near Ft. Riley went with a couple of his buddies and got a few. I told him how to save a skin and he said ok. Next time he tried it then called me and pretty much told me to come clean them myself or go buy em!!!!!LOL
His buddy is gonna teach him how to skin one out.
Jig man you guys get partridge out your way??? Now those are some great feathers for tying!!
Attica, they will be ready whenever you get here, I would be glad to cook you some. Ron I'm really surprised they are still coming in. My place is in sand country and on the side that sand has been removed there is a couple places that hold water. On the other part is sunflowers. I guess its still good hunting because we had a limited milo crop this year so they are feeding on the native stuff more. Also the MOJO will make a difference between 4 or 5 and a limit.
Yea, some of these were from QK's country, what we call northern birds. They are a little larger than our local birds and also have more fat on them...
