Mama & her 2 little ones were pretty intent on eating some acorn's

Mama even looked right at me & I know saw my camera flash but just kept on munchin. Then a "little" competition showed up (see the Fox Squirrel on the right side of the picture).

You recon all this means the fishin would probably be good? That's what an "Old Wife" told me once.

Only one way to prove that theory. They sure look pretty comfortable out there! There is another saying that 'you can't catch them from the couch'......... but then again, my kids XBOX makes even that possible. :D

When I was a kid. Used to getup before daybreak Dress in camo get .22 and fishing gear . Jump on bike pedal down to creek. Walk banks of creek and squirrel hunt until 11am. Clean squirrels while fishing. If did good fishing quit about 3pm and came home and cleaned fish. If fishing wasn't good would hunt squirrels again until evening.

To me there wasn't a better way to spend a day. When I got older used to take a .22 with me in boat while fishing and squirrel was in season and I was using spots near shore. Neat thing about that was . I could clean squirrels put in plastic bag and drop in cooler that I was keeping my fish in. That was my brand of surf and turf. Fried squirrel and fish.

Any morning is a good morning for fishing, unless wind is over 15mph. Usually if wind is in the forecast I'll stay home.
