Several weeks ago on one of my fly tying boards a buddy was looking for some really pale elk hair. Sent him this small piece

He called it a Dun Variant. It's a full saddle. Here's a close-up pic of some of the colors in it.

Ohhhh yeah! Sweet deal there, Doug. I had something similar happen to me once. Sent a guy some duck feathers and got two full nearly unused quail skins and the upper third of a jungle cock cape!

That is an incredible looking saddle, and I can kind of relate. I made a trade with Toadfrog, 100 3/0 spinnerbait hooks and I got 6 big bags of hackle feathers, a pack of grizzly hackle a pack of white marabou, a pack of chartreuse marabou, and pack of yellow marabou and a nice patch of Arctic fox, pretty good trade in my book. So I kind of have an idea on how you feel so congrats on the saddle patch, that kind of quality is very expensive for a full saddle, nice trade.
