Along with crappie and whites I have been catching some bonus fish. Had one gar at 40" at the boat got the jig out of his chompers and he flopped off the pliers. The sucker on a jig was a first for me. At this point I need a common carp and drum to complete the Missouri Native Trash Fish GRAND SLAM. On an average year I catch many of both those species. Will update as my goal gets closer. That is if the gills don't go crazy in the next ten days. :) best wishes fellow jiggers

Woo hoo!!!!! Got to love the Trash Fish Grand Slam. Honestly, they are just as fun if not more than what we target regularly......... well, since they mix it up for us if anything. I caught a huge drum (sheephead) in a marina on L.Erie a few weeks ago. Fun fun fun. Keep us updated and would love to see what else you manage to get on your line. Do you know what species of sucker that is, blacktail maybe? Looks like an outstanding size for a sucker!

Only ever caught a few gar in my life, but have watched them take a lot of swipes at my jigs. Good job for hooking up on a few. :bigfish:

Thanks fellas. Hunter7711 the last few years have been busy with kids, remodel of half the house and decoy carving. I hope to hit the water more this year. When it gets hot come on down to the ville' and we will long pole the trees. Always fun to lose 20 jigs a day

looks like a good time to me , Tom!

It has been great. I have never laughed as hard fishing as I did with the gar hole we got into. Those little gar come out of the water like a missile.
