Alabama how bout some help ?

My son is being sent to McCalla , Alabama for a few days to solve some conveyor belt problems for his company.

While there he hopes to wet a few jigs. Anyone know of a lake in that vicinity or river. That might enable for him to catch a few during his off hours.

Also some jig color you all favor would help me. As he want a couple dozen jigs tied by me for ammo. He is overnighting his jig box to me for a fill up, he lives in Nebraska and I am in Ohio.

McCalla is SW of Birmingham on I-20/59. That part of AL is fairly hilly - so there should be water in the area. My map shows Bankhead lake (looks to be an impoundment) to the NW.

My personal knowledge of AL is limited to further south - Montgomery area (thanks to Uncle Sam).

As far as jigs, I got to believe black & white marabou would be in the running.
