All the jig heads I buy here locally are 1/32 or 1/16 and have collars that I cut off. I don't have a scale so I'm curious to know what they weigh after the collar is cut off. Could anybody possibly enlighten me. Also....I was given an unopened pack of Luck-E-Strike minnow heads. The packages says 1/16 but they are smaller than the home poured 1/16 minnow heads I get. They look almost the same size as the 1/32 ones. Makes me wonder:huh:

Here's a post from cc on this http://www.crappie.com/crappie/main-crappie-fishing-forum/90150-jig-weight.html

Look at the last post which is mine - it's the answer I got back from Do-It.

Myself I don't worry about it much - I pour em based on the mold. Even if you did do the weight thing after you powder them, or paint and epoxy coat, add eyes it all changes again. Getting too technical on it kind of takes the enjoyment out of making them and fishing them.
