Saw this Pic and question posted on Facebook. Thought it be fun to post on here.

You Only Have ONE cast to make it happen!

What fly (or jig) would you choose and where would you aim it?

If it were me I would put a black/olive #10 wooly worm with red yarn tail or a 1/64 Black/red Micro Marabou threadneck about 10 to 12 foot up stream from that tree and let it drift into and around it.

I'm more of a dry fly fisherman. I would use a #12 caddis fly in black and let the fly float into the run and see if the fish are holding behind the tree in the eddy.

Out here...
First I would take hit off my little bottle of crown I most all ways carry....

Then I would have to enjoy the view for a sec....

Not many like that where I live....

Then I would ask myself, self what kind of fish would you ketch there....

In my area it would either be a katfish or a bass i would be ketchin...

So then I would say self what would I use to ketch either of those on....

And believe it or not I used to fish the Llano when I was a sprout and went ketchin in stuff just like that...

So for me, I would toss a hellgrammite pattern under a float upstream and eas it down there and hang on...

If there is enough water, betwixed the bank and that big ole tree...

in the shade...

Back then I would use a real hellgrammite that dad and I would ketch ourselves...

That is my only xperience with a fly rod...

Hook it under the krown and let er drift......

Well...looks like a nice spot for a big ol brown to hang out. I would make the cast around the front of the trees at the edge of the roots with a solid black 1/32 bugger jig

Something dark and buggy. Would need closer inspection than top of the tree from the opposite bank - but my lure choice would not change.

Right in front of the tree looks like the darkest water so in my mind the deepest...... cast far enough in front of the 'hole' to get it to hit the bottom with the drift.

Hard to tell from the picture, but possibly a big eddy just below the tree - that seam would hold a fish also.

I'd be working the seam next to the below the tree on the right between the eddy & the nervous water in hopes of catching a small mouth. Bait would be some sort of minnow or craw imitator.
