The water is dropping on our lakes and cooling down. We still have some people skiing in 64 degree water and I had ice on my window this morning... Anyway, the fish are biting. Longlined from daylight until 3 pm. Caught 34 crappie, 20 or more bass and a few striper. Great day to be on the lake with little wind this morning.

Fun day and love seeing the pics with jigs still in the lips. Looks like all were caught on spinner/jigs? Sharpen the knife.

Thanks guys. I use a lot of RR and Ponyheads jig I tie while I'm longlining. Hartwell is a 58,000 acre lake that has great striper fishing and the Hybrid bass does good too. The crappie can be hard to find at times but the lake has good white and black crappie. With the water temps dropping the fish are chasing the bait up into the creek runs so you are never sure what you may catch from fall all the way to early spring. I caught 5 doubles on spotted or LM bass yesterday, that's a ton of fun on a 10 or 12' rod. Had one fish hit, I pick up the rod and it took off running for deep water. Tried to slow him down but I only got to feel him about 30 seconds before the rod and reel broke... Put it down and pulled another rod out of the box, ready to fish again. On most trips I'll catch a couple good catfish but didn't catch any this time out.

The guy skiing didn't know it but he was in less than 4' of water and the closer he was getting to that bridge is close to 2'' deep with stumps. I thought I would see the boat and him get beat up. They come by me and came close to dumping me with thier waves. That part of the creek isn't but 50 yards wide and I was 20 yards of the bank going by the end of a dock.
