I have been using a wave spin But I let a friend borrow it when we were fishing at the pass and I think he knocked the spool when climbing around on some rocks and it makes a rubbing sound now when reeling in line.....
As for sharks
I was wading around Honeymoon island 7 years ago and seen some Tarpon rolling close to the shore and jumped one around 90 to 120 pounds and the next day I seen some movement around the same spot and waded around the wake and started fishing. I didn't see any fish rolling but I did see a Hammerhead around 10ft between me and shore coming strait at me and really slow and passed within 3 feet of me and that was it :beat-up: I think i sharted that day
Another time I was wading at my Redfish spot and on my way home I had to go through a little deep hole a little more then 4 ft. I heard a movement in the water looked back and seen 9ft Bull shark swimming on his side strait at me and I started to run and smacked the water and fell but I think he got spooked but the only reason he would be on his side is if he were sick or wanting to take a bite out of my leg....
I reel is half fish a couple of times a year but most the time they don't bother you...
