Dad and I didn't get to the lake until late morning, we have gotten a bunch of rain and the lake is up 2 feet since a week ago, and it was supposed to be windy. Not exactly ideal for filling up the fish basket or getting dad a bunch of fly rod experience.

First spot, casting right into the wind.... lots of tangles and bad language for a little bit, but we got into fish right away. Dad's first fish on the fly....

Ten minutes and a few fish, and he got his timing and how to fight a fish figured out. I would hear him laughing, look over, and see that rod dancing..... bluegills on flies are just too much fun. The last spot we hit, he put 6 fish in the basket in 7 casts!

They are bedding and mad here in Kansas! Ended with 44 keepers in 4 or 5 hours. Dad can't wait to get back out there.

Me on the electric and grandpa cutting out ribs with a 4" fillet knife, we got done in 25 minutes. Me and that old man can blow through a pile of fish! Set a cold beverage on the table for each of us, and we have a good time.

Nice catch, congrats. Lot's of fun with those on the fly rod. One lake that I fish here had crappie, gills and redear spawning at the same time last week. Lot's of fry in the water now.
