My best friend surprised me and showed up in town for the weekend. We spent the whole day yesterday at one of our old fishing holes. Strong winds made for some tough fishing but we still managed to put some nice black crappie and gills in our buckets. We ended up cleaning em and having a nice Late night fish fry. I think we ate around eleven :D

Also we saw the dangest thing too at the lake. This guy was fishing down from us. He had this huge bobber he was fishing with. He winged it way out towards this tree in the water. It got caught on one of the lower branches and he starts cussing. Next thing we know this guy is walking out in the water then takes off swimming. Climbs up this tree and gets his bobber. swims back and gets out and notices us watching in aww and says I only had one bobber. Only thing I could think to say was "Right On! I hear ya man"
Bat $#&$ Crazy this guy was:huh:

Nice catch Andy. I have a black crappie mounted that I caught in a pond maybe 30 years ago that is dark black like those crappie, had never seen one as dark before. Some of the bank fisherman around here uses some big corks that must be 6'' to 8'' long... Makes the biggest splash when they hit the water LOL.

Black is beautiful!

I've dived off a boat pier a coupla times at night to retrieve yanked off rod & reels. Quicker than thought I found myself swimming down to catch up with gear being pulled into the deep. You'd think I would have learned to secure my gear after the first time...
