Today was tougher fishing. The river is up 4 feet from last week and suppose to continue to rise through the weekend. We started trying to catch some on trees in 2 to 3 FOW with little to no success. Then moved to trees in 6-8 FOW and started picking up a few males. I probably should have moved out to deeper flats and target the females but I really love catching these colorful fellas!

I think we should start a thread for fish pics with JC wear??!!

:icon14: on the fish and the shirt! Hope you managed a few to bring home.

Hmmmmm.... they were in 2-3 FOW last week but the river came up 4'. Today they were in 6-8 FOW..... sounds like they haven't moved from where they were. ;)

I need to catch a decent fish before i can actually take a picture of one. :-/

Nice, the water doesn't look to muddy there. We finally got some rain today, quite a bit so the water should be rising like a hoped it would.

Roger I went ahead and cleaned up before this pic!

Russ you are spot on.... The fish pretty much stayed on the same trees.

Jungle as long as we stayed out of water with current the clarity was normal. (8 to 10" of visibility) Had to dodge trees and debris flowing downstream in the main channels.

Ronnie great pictures. Glad to see that you got your dad out with you again. Know that you have a great time. Most of the Crappies that we have caught have been black crappie. They are very dark this time of year. BTW one of the crappie that Freddie caught the other day was a black hybrid. They have a very dark strip down the back. Will try to get the picture that his Grandma took of the fish.
