...in 19 years! After we found out our youngest is allergic to evergreen trees, conifers, we have been using artificial.

This year she wont be able to make it since they moved to Indianapolis, so we decide to go real. Besides in a couple weeks this one, and a few more of its friends will find themselves in the bottom of the lake. The guy I bought this one from said I am welcome to the left overs...

The first of many jigs I'll loose in this one...

So, what does the rest of Jig Craft go for...

From the early 60's to 2001 I grew Christmas Trees and sold them. Then I sold out and turned to the fake trees. We usually put up 1, Mother Inlaw puts up between 15-25, this year only 3 though. That's right that's not a typo, one year she had a forest in the front living room I counted till I ran out of fingers and toes and there were 27 that year.
That said I do miss the real trees at Christmas time.

We think alike.
First year I've had a real one in many years. Was most excited to buy it to sink if later.

Still have 12 Xmas trees stashed from last years failed sinkage.

Merry Xmas fellow sinker.

Sinking such things in waterways is against the law in Ohio. :-/ Had a guy who worked for the local water plant that i was getting to know and make friends with and thought i might convince him to look the other way with a bunch of bags of crappie........... but he got a job 3 cities away. Would sure love to sink a nice bunch and mark it on GPS to walk out over top of it and drill some holes in the winter.

We have a place not far from us that you can 'cut your own' and been wanting for years to do it. Got ours this year from friends involved with the local Girl Scout troop. Was purchased all netted up but (as always) turned out......... just right.

Best part is being able to go to a farm and pick out a tree before it gets cut. Kids really enjoy it.

Our plan was to do the pick and cut thing also. But they were picked over big time this late. Besides he sold us a Fraser Fir for less. Said he was just gonna burn em after the first anyway. And it looked a heck of a lot better than the pines did. Mel and I had a big time with it. Gonna deck the halls today, then back to the slaughter tomorrow. Finally tagged a buck last weekend, now its freezer fillin time...

Then drown some trees, and get ready for my favorite way to shake off a day at the office!!!

I love the holidays!
