That hook has an excellent point! What brand? Does that type of fly "ride" point down or up?

How would that work as a jig tie?

Hawn as far as I know hook up, it's a Dai-Riki hook

As a jig - I'd have to use the new penny for the head and just tie the rest of the pattern. Have to figure a way to curve the jig hook - it might look a little dumb on a straight hook. I'll give it a go tonight.

Use a size smaller hook and tie it up the bend.... that will give it the curve, but it will be the wrong way. (Still works though)

Those look good FM - i think every predatory fish that swims eats little bugs at some time.

In my experience, all my scuds will run hook point down. I've made big ones for river smallmouth..... they catch fish till they get hung on the bottom.
