    Aloha Jigger John !

My thoughts go out to his family. Very sorry to hear it and I know he was a good friend and mentor to you Hawnjigs. I had a couple private conversations with him as well and always enjoyed talking with him. His storytelling will surely be missed. Hopefully his legendary fishing will be...

I received a personal email asking for the new owner's contact info, but I did not feel at liberty to share that info through emails with people i do not know. This individual said that they were unable to be confirmed as a "New User" so it could be the same person. I did notice that there...

    Linder Video

Came across this Linder's video about hair jigs and walleye. Lots of commercials selling their wares but has a little useful info sprinkled in. Has a little piece about the history midway through.

    Fall fishing

I haven't been out much at all lately. Maybe 4 times from shore (quick trips) and once on my kayak during the hot summer months. Hoping to change that very soon. Temps about 20 degrees cooler today than yesterday and got about 2 inches of rain as well. Hopefully the walleye will be heading...

    Jig Action ?

Maybe the 2 of you are achieving the same goal... just going about it in different ways? I've always thought that once you actually find the fish there are really 2 things you are trying to do. Put something in front of their face that LOOKS LIKE what they are used to eating and make it ACT...

Jay - Not really sure what all "plug-ins" have been added or taken away. The plug-ins allow stuff like the videos and embedding... at least they did with the old software i was familiar with. I'm still listed as a moderator here but i have no control over or access to the actual workings of...

    More jigs using crinkle paint

That is really neat to hear Jim! I will have to look them up on Facebook and Instagram and like it if i see it. Those are the only social media things i am into other than fishing forums. I have gotten rid of so many "friends" on Facebook in the last 2 years, it is pretty comical.... i use it...

    More jigs using crinkle paint

Those are cool. Have a great natural pattern to them. Almost look like reptile skin.

    Changes?

About the big drop in activity...... i wish i had an answer. It just kind of tanked out and never came back. I went on some posting sprees here and there trying to get things going but it only worked for a short period of time. A few other members i think tried something similar. It doesn't...

    New Slayer Fishing Kayak

Awesome!!! Can't wait to see what all mods you end up doing. I picked up a new (to me) Old Towne Predator Pedal Drive over the winter. I think it is the 13.5 but can't remember for sure. All i know is that is was too LONG for my shed. haha. I ended up having to have a new shed built so i...

    Crinkle Powder Paint

Very cool looking mottled look you get! I have not seen that paint yet, have to look into it.

    A little Something...

Looks good! Black & Silver is sure hard to beat. I think i have some of that same chenille still also.

    Opposum jigs and more

I have not tried opossum either but they sure look good. I have some coon tail that looks similar to that with the long guard hairs. It looks great with the pearl heads and a touch of red mixed in. Beautiful work.

    Spring Bucktails

Those look excellent! Great colors and nice neat ties. For bucktail, i like tying on top a lead collar too. Trying to wrap straight on to the hook shank i get lots of loose ties that spin on the shank when i try to tighten it all down good. You are spot on with the thicker ties letting the...

    heat transfer foil

They look nice and shiny, that is for sure. Look really good to me and i know the fish don't care about those imperfections. The people buying them can be way more picky than the fish i believe.

    Slow Slab

I really like the looks of these.  I have some very simple style slabs (kastmaster spoons) that i think i could try this with.  I picked up a pedal kayak over the winter that i think the slow vertical jigging would work good out of.  My target species would be walleye and maybe the occasional...

    Ice Ties

LedHed - These are some tiny little things. I have some fly hooks (not jig) that are small #14 along with a supply of tungsten beads. I'm sure i could put a little bend at the eye and make them into close enough of a jig hook. The ice tourney never did happen. We had a lot of sunshine and...

    Float n flys

Beautiful looking ties as usual, the crappie seem to think so too. 14.5" is a chunk! Stuck in between here.... there is still ice in the main lakes and reservoirs with an open water gap around pretty much whole shoreline.

    Bucktail Video

Nice simple video. Always like the way you finish off your knots.... never tried that method. Thanks for posting.

    Full of carp !

I've got a few from my local river on buggy looking ties. When it gets mid summer and the river gets low, i used to purposely target them. Had better success with my fly rod, but definitely do-able with jigs. The first run they make is always pretty impressive.
