    Night Zander Jig

I wondered if the night bite had started for you yet.  Glad you are finding some.  Those 60cm fish are perfect eating size.  I've only been out 3 times now after dark and my only results were a single catfish and a broken fishing rod.  Somehow i hooked an eye on a broken rod someone had thrown...

    Grizzly marabou mini jigs

Look what the cat dragged in! Good to hear from you Ronnie.

    Brush tap technique

Tapping on powder paint does take a little practice to get it looking good.  I don't know that the brush matters as much as just generally how hard you tap.  As long as the brush hold some powder, you should be good.  As i mentioned about the force you use to tap, a trick i have learned is that...

    Boot tail plastics

I have used a few different brands of them and they definitely do the trick on some days. However....... i don't really care for the Berkley style. The tails on those ones and some other off brands i have used are fairly skinny and just don't seem to kick as much as others. Especially at slow...

    Newbie From KA

Welcome to the site from NW Ohio! Quite a few people on here target trout so you should be in good company and find some tricks to take with you. I do have steelhead available a little ways North and East of me that run the Lake Erie tributaries in the colder months but seems i am always...

    American jobs

Hookup - I have similar views as yours..... as in they tend to split that traditional blue/red line and people will give me a look like 'How could you have beliefs and views on both sides?'  My own parents included.  They have bet all-in on their party and refuse to think otherwise.

    American jobs

My wife and i had this very discussion just last week. We do agree, it bothers us quite a bit to see how divided Americans can be over certain hot button topics. Some where down the line, it feels like the majority of the population here has adapted an 'all-in' mentality and refuse to see any...

    New guy from Montana

Welcome from NW Ohio. Lots of good patterns to browse through here and there are many panfish patterns that would work great for trout. Montana is one place on my list to visit some day.

    American jobs

It has turned into a media circus with each side trying to draw attention to their center stage. Sad, but i no longer believe any news outside the local stuff i read.

    Hello from Manila

Welcome to the site Costa! Always glad to see new members. The majority here are from the United States but we do have some international folks that stop in occasionally. What type of fish do you try to catch over there..... i would assume mostly salt water species?

How to get a smooth finish

You've got the basic steps right. As duffy mentioned above, how hot you get the jig when you dip it in the jar is probably the most important thing. Practice on pop tabs, metal washers or screws will give you a chance to play with the paint and not mess up jig heads. You just want the head...

Life is good (so is steak)

Hawn - My kids are picky about any flavors some days, other days they eat crap i don't even like...... and i will eat just about anything. To make it worse, they will eat something one day and then change their mind next time we have the same exact meal. On that meal, i believe the Olive...

Life is good (so is steak)

Nothing fancy. Actually used 2 different flavors trying to make both my kids happy. Used store bought Olive Garden Italian dressing on 2 and a mixed together teriyaki/ginger/garlic on the others. These steaks were huge and were a substitute to London Broil that Kroger was out of at the time...

Life is good (so is steak)

Grilling up some simple marinated steaks for steak salad. Good mix of hickory coals, mesquite and basic Kingspord coals.... and some Foothills Brewing Co. Pilsner.  Can't wait for the final product.

    Here's Some

Love the color combo on the one in the upper right corner. Looks like you should be putting some fish on the line soon.

Since it's been so quite ...

That is a dream trip for me as well. My wife would enjoy it as well so it may just happen someday. Always love to see pictures.

    is sure quiet.

Quiet is an understatement. Lots of people still checking in and reading new posts though. That is a very cool looking plastic bait. Lots of layers to that little guy.

    Dusted Off Fly Rod

Fun stuff. Glad you got to knock the cob-webs off. I actually got my fly rod out last night..... you kind of inspired me to give it a few throws. It was quite enjoyable and already thinking about pulling it out again for the weekend.

    Mop jigs & flies

I did make some up. The material came off of a hand sized scrub mop. They worked ok, but nothing spectacular. The short length of the material is a draw back in my opinion.

    Jig Nymph (float-fly)

Need to make me about a dozen of these....... it has been my best bait to throw for the last 2 weeks! Have a few with a chart/orange head that work the best so far.
