    Hey Atica...

Hey Mel - good to hear from you! Honestly, i have not heard much from anyone on here for a while. Feels like the site kinda went belly up. I talk to Lost Pole down South through text messages. The 2 of us are going to have to meet in the middle someday and see what trouble we can get into...

    Crappie pics

Nice!!!!! Looks like you mainly are fishing for white crappie? Same here for me. Very few black crappie around here unless I travel a ways. Most of my crappie are holding out over deep water so I don't fish shallow much for the blacks. I also disvovered fish tacos and a cabbage slaw recently...

    Crappie baits

Beautiful spinner ducks..... and other various tails. I bet those cocktails do catch them!

    Bass baits

Nicely done. I imagine those do work great on multi species. The bear hair makes for a nice big profile even when wet.

    Tying a bucktail

Great video Jay. Awesome simple tutorial! I tie mine very similar but finish them a little different. I just use the original thread and whip finish in opposite directions a few times then coat them with nail polish. On smaller jigs I add the nail polish right after the first layer of thread...

    Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays all! Hope every one can close out the year with a bang. I got out last night and put a walleye in the freezer so that should wrap up my fishing for the decade. :D Stay safe everyone!

    Fall walleye fishing

Wow, did I ever stumble on to a honey hole! Last couple years I was getting a few walleye here and there at an upground reservoir 20 minutes from my house. Fishing pressure really ticked up in the last 2 years though and pretty much all the fish over 15" or so have disappeared. On a whim...

    Plastics vs. Ties ?

It is a species difference for me. Bluegill and crappie...... 1/64 up to 1/16 kip tail or buck tail jigs are about all i use. Might switch up to a jigging rap or ultralight lipless crank through the ice for the bigger crappie. Yellow perch.... tiny homemade spoons have been doing me good...

More than I was bargaining for

That is a heck of a variety for the day. I bet that pike did give you quite the surprise!

    Happy Thanksgiving

Happy late turkey day all. What can i say...... ate too much.... slept in late.... back to work on Monday. The year is going quick. Less than a month to a whole new decade.

    Couple more...

Finally found a couple last night. Switched up to a different upground reservoir and seemed to figure them out for a minute. Fished for more than an hour without a bite and in desperation tied on a deep diving shad rap. Got a fish on the first cast. Lost the lure to the rocks on the 2nd cast...

    Couple more...

Had spinnerbaits (and walleye) on my mind and tied these 2 thinking of adding a safety pin on style spinner like in the pic. I swapped out the spinner on this one for a gold deep cup Colorado spinner. Never really used this style for walleye but plan on tossing these in my box to give them a...

Interesting to hear about the gobys, they are certainly all over Lake Erie. They are considered an invasive species, but the smallmouth bass in Erie have really taken a liking to them. The combination of gobys and another invasive species, zebra mussels, have combined to clear up the water in...

Bucho - Those are chunky looking fish. The ones i get from my local reservoir are almost always skinny as heck but the Erie walleye really fatten up on the shad. What forage fish do the zander eat in that canal? There is definitely a nice stretch of shore you have access to and i know all to...

    New User From MA

Welcome to the site murph1951! I don't do a whole lot of wire forming but i know there are others here that do. Pretty simple R-bends and twists are the extent of my knowledge. Glad to have you on board!

Dang, sounds like you have the right spot. The numbers of walleye in your area must be on a good swing. My local resource hasn't been all that great on the size, but there are lots of small fish. After dark I tend to throw mostly dark color..... black, blue or purple. Some nights did well on...
