Someone throw me a lifeline, for I feel I'm heading into unsafe waters!
Over the weekend, I bought some Red and White powder paint from Harbor Freight, and built an alcohol lamp. I've been itching to try it out.
These jigs pictured are the first jigs I grabbed out of my LMB jig/spinner box. I cleaned them up a bit, then painted them red. I was planning on doing the classic Red/White combo. Pictured are two 1/8 oz ball heads w/ collar, and a 1/4 oz jig that's more of a wedge than a ball head. The 1/8's have craft fur, and the 1/4 has bucktail. I used some metallic red cross-stitch thread for the collar, to give it a little different look. I actually used 70-denier red thread to tie the jigs with (need to get some heavier denier thread in red). Obviously I put a little to much powder on the 1/4 oz, as it dripped. One of the 1/8's has a small nipple as well. They'll still fish.
I'll take them to the river for Stripers/Wipers/Whites in the Spring.
