Silicone Tie

A well known online fishing site did an article on craws and the transitions in colors they take on due to the vitamin intake in their diets. I had to tie up a jig to try and match the photo they used in the article. I was given permission to use the photo so I tied one up with the materials I had on hand and posted up on my "personal" page. I was just play'n around when I tied it and thought it was a little on the loud side with the colors, but from what I have seen I do think I was wrong.

Ours for the most part look like this, my son caught this one in our creek last summer and brought it up for me to match. Most of the craws the smallmouth around here puke up look like this with a touch more orange and black on the claws.

I've never seen a craw like that here with the orange splotches like that. Some river craws are similar in color to the one in the last photo. We have a craw that is only found in the Big River here in Missouri. It's red, yellow and black. When I fish smallies there green pumkin/red is very good there.

Love the colors you came up with, definitely would catch bass around here with a fat craw or long worm trailer.

Majority of craws in my local rivers are a darker blue/green than that, but can find a few with the bright orange highlight sometimes. They stick out like a sore thumb...... which is probably why you don't find many of them.
